Sónia Rolland Sobral, professor of the Department of Science and Technology and researcher at REMIT, released the book “Introduction to Programming using Python”, published by Edições Sílabo.
“A programming language is a system that allows man and machine to interact and is understood by both. It is a formal language that specifies a set of instructions and rules and is used to materialise the solution to a problem. Solving problems using programming languages is not just a matter of ‘typing code’ into an editor. Before coding, you need to identify the problem, understand it, and find not just solutions, but the best of solutions,” she explains.
The book “Introduction to Programming using Python” is aimed at those who want to “take their first steps into the world of programming,” from the use of problem decomposition tools to solving small and medium-sized problems in Python and is on sale in bookshops.
