The Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia and Arts prepares professionals to create, produce and communicate visual and digital content at the intersection of art and technology. Admission Exams

They can apply to the Degree Course in Multimedia and Arts of the UPT through the Institutional Competition, the holders of a Portuguese secondary education course, who have approved one of the following national exams:

    Working in close collaboration with the scientific disciplines and the curriculum of the Multimedia and Arts degree programme, the CIG (Gallaecia Research Centre) combines artistic practice with scientific research through a transdisciplinary approach, focusing primarily on artistic creation (across its various forms of expression) and its digital/technological (re)materialisation, as well as on the resulting aesthetics.

Coordination

Ana Clara Roberti

Ana Clara Roberti is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture and Multimedia at Universidade Portucalense, where she teaches in the Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia and Arts. She holds a PhD in Design and an MA in Image Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP), and a BA in Social Communication from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (Brazil). Her research and practice are situated within the field of multimedia, with a particular focus on ethnographic documentary, photography, and audiovisual practices as forms of research, artistic creation, and community engagement. Her work brings these fields into dialogue with design, artistic research, and participatory methodologies, exploring co-creation processes, visual and sonic storytelling, and forms of representing communities, territories, and cultural heritage, particularly in rural and/or socioeconomically vulnerable contexts. As a filmmaker, researcher, and lecturer, she develops projects that combine scientific research with artistic practice, frequently leading visual research and audiovisual production. She has participated in several national and European research projects, including In My Backyard (Horizon 2020), Stories from Both Sides (Climate-KIC / New European Bauhaus), Minante Watermill, Neiva Flows (EIT Community / New European Bauhaus), and ECHO – Echoing the Communal Self (FCT). Since 2012, her films, photographic works, and audiovisual projects have been presented at national and international festivals, exhibitions, and academic events. She previously taught at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, in the fields of photography, audiovisual media, multimedia, and communication design. She was a contracted researcher at CITCEM – Transdisciplinary Research Centre Culture, Space and Memory, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Porto, where she coordinated educational laboratories, contributed to national and European research projects, and led research and artistic activities. She is currently a researcher at CIAUD-UPT, an integrated researcher at CITCEM, co-coordinator of Citadocs – Documentaries about, for and by Citizens – and a member of the Ethics Committee of Universidade Portucalense since 2025.
