The Short Master in Sommelier and Global Wine Business intend to specialize the wine professionals in business, planning and organization of wines in contexts of trade, hotel and restaurant management in order to ensure the management of the supply and storage of wine, wine service and contact closely with consumer counseling on choice of product.

This integrated study plan by 8 modules dedicated to the specialization of professionals knowledgeable of the wines and their business, will be accompanied by a scientific program developed in situ with professionals and offer programs from vineyards, hotels and restaurants wine partners. Organized in visits, wine tastings and seminars, the direct contact with the work of the vineyard, wine production, marketing and tasting. In this specialization, we understand the wine as a resource of tangible and intangible heritage, local and regional authorities, with strong involvement in construction of natural and cultural landscapes of the places. To know the importance of this resource while landscape designer, developed a cultural program that will allow you to feel and live unique experiences in cultural and social contexts only.

The appreciation of professionals in the field of specialization in wines is essential to create more sales opportunities. The projection of the best-prepared professionals in this area allows a career ascension or the development of their own businesses.

The preferred target audience will be professionals related to the wine sector, restaurant, hospitality or entrepreneurs who wish to bet on the professionalization of their service.

  1.  Acquiring knowledge based on the world of wines at national and international level in order to develop appropriate strategies for consumer advice.
  2. To understand the importance and specificities of the wine regions, as well as the terminology and culture associated with wines.
  3. Acquiring knowledge about viticulture and oenology, from the production process of the vineyard to bottling.
  4. Develop marketing strategies, promotion and marketing of wines, having contact with some cases of success.
  5. To understand the importance of the harmonization of wines and gastronomy, through the culinary experiences and the mechanisms of tasting.
  6. Understand the specific characteristics of the Wine Tourism, as a vehicle promoter of the regions and the privileged instrument of distribution of products and services.

Teaching Period:

January 23, 2023 to July 25, 2023

Monday and Tuesday from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

Exceptionally seminars and study visits may take place outside these times, although any other arrangements are subject to prior arrangement with students.
