Presentation

The tourism and hospitality industry is highly competitive and dynamic, constantly requiring qualified leaders and managers to face challenges and drive organisational success. The Short Master’ Talent Management and Retention in Hospitality’ is designed to address the lack of specific training programmes for this sector, offering a unique opportunity for hotel managers, HR professionals, team managers and others interested in people management to acquire essential knowledge and skills.

With a practical and targeted approach, the course addresses critical issues such as attracting and retaining talent, leadership, diversity and inclusion, happiness, and well-being at work, which are fundamental to creating high-performance teams and the sector’s success. Through dynamic teaching methodologies, such as real-life case studies and practical exercises, participants will be empowered to tackle industry-specific challenges, improve the performance of their teams, and drive operational excellence.

The creation of this course meets the growing demand for qualified professionals in the tourism and hospitality sector, contributing to the development of leaders prepared to face the challenges and opportunities of today’s market.

  • Recognise the importance of commitment, motivation, and engagement in team performance, develop skills to set challenging goals, promote team morale, and apply mentoring and leadership techniques.
  • Acquire leadership skills to promote high team performance, including defining organisational identity, creating key performance indicators, and managing emotional intelligence.
  • Understand the importance of well-being and happiness at work, identify specific challenges in the tourism and hospitality industry, and develop strategies for building positive and collaborative relationships in an organisational context.
  • Develop people management practices aligned with sustainability principles, applying effective strategies for building sustainability-oriented organisational cultures.

Monday and Tuesday, from 18h00 to 21h00.

Note: the timetable may be adjusted depending on the characteristics of the participants and/or the Experience Seminars.

Diploma or Certificate awarded
  • A certificate of attendance will be issued to participants who have attended at least 75% of the programme.
  • A certificate will be awarded to participants who have passed all the course units.

  • Relevant previous professional experience in tourism, hotels, services, team management, human resources, or related areas.
  • It will be valued but is not a mandatory requirement, for trainees to have previous academic training in areas related to the subject of the course (e.g., management, hotel management, human resources management, tourism).
