Women’s, Gender and Intersectionality Studies

Until 10 January 2025, applications are open for the Intensive Programa in Women’s, Gender and Intersectionality Studies. Application Period: 10 October to 10 January 2025 The growing global effort, within the framework of the UN 2030 Agenda, the Council of Europe and the Council of the European Union and through the EU Strategy for Gender Equality 2020-2025, has driven various initiatives and fostered interest in Gender Studies and Women’s Studies. This multidisciplinary and transversal course in women’s studies is an opportunity to gain skills and deepen knowledge of legal norms and institutions, from the point of view of different areas of knowledge that directly or indirectly refer to women and women’s rights, with a view to offering some legal support for a reading of reality and research in areas of legal and non-legal knowledge. The course takes place over ten sessions with different lecturers who hold doctorates in their respective fields. The second part of the last session is reserved for an informal discussion between the lecturers and students with the aim of debating some issues and methodological scope about the Essay they will have to develop.

Donating blood saves lives!

On 29 October, the Universidade Portucalense community is invited to take part in a blood donation campaign, organised by RES-UPT  together with the Portuguese Blood and Transplantation Institute. Blood is vital for hospital treatments and procedures and plays a crucial role in maternal and neonatal care. A simple gesture can save lives! The blood collection will take place between 2pm and 7pm, in rooms 205 and 206.

Executive Short Master in Talent Management and Retention in Hospitality

Scholarship Award

With the main objective of supporting the training of specialized professionals and boosting knowledge and innovation, HPSC – High Performance Studies Center is awarding a scholarship (in the amount of the tuition fee) for the 1st edition of the Postgraduate Course in Clinical Fundamentals for Hospital Managers. Requirements to apply for the scholarship Academic qualifications – Degree level. Professional experience – The degree of suitability between the functions/activities already carried out, directly and/or indirectly related to the activities inherent to the Postgraduate Programme, will be taken into account.) Applications are open until 21 November 2025 for the Short Master in Sommelier and Global Wine Business Application Period: 1st Phase: May 12 to November 21, 2025 (Early Bird): 10% discount on tuition fees 2nd Phase: November 22, 2025 to January 12, 2026 The Short Master in Wine Sommelier and Global Wine Market aims to specialize wine professionals in business, planning and organization of wines in marketing, hotel and restaurant contexts, in order to ensure the management of wine procurement and storage, perform wine services, and prepare wine lists, establishing a close relationship with the consumer, advising them on product choice. The contexts are global, in which the internationalization of this product imposes a strong dynamic in our national economy. It is in this context that the Short Master in Wine Sommelier and Global Wine Market appears, which intends to specialize professionals in the wine market and guide new investors in the area. Subjects related to the different tasks linked to wines are exposed, from production to commercialization, always taking into account a guided and personalized choice. This Short Master has a study plan integrated by 8 modules, which counts on the dedication of excellent professionals, very knowledgeable about wines and their business, who, module by module, offer us a formative program full of experience. The partner entities will be fundamental for us to create a connection in loco, where learning is experienced. Visits, tastings, and seminars provide direct contact with the workings of the vineyard, wine production, marketing, and tasting. In this specialization course, wine is also understood to be a resource of local and regional material and immaterial heritage, with strong implication in the construction of the natural and cultural landscapes of places. In the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture, we believe that the culture and history of places make the difference when it comes to raising the quality of a product. In order to understand the importance of this resource as a landscape structurer, we have developed a cultural program that will accompany the training and will allow you to feel and live experiences per se.

Post-Graduate Degree Clinical Fundamentals for Hospital Management

Until 17th September, applications are open for the Post-Graduate Degree Clinical Fundamentals for Hospital Management. 1st Phase: 25 March to 22 July – Early Bird 2nd Phase: 23rd July to 18th October With this postgraduate training, the aim is to provide hospital management with specific clinical concepts that facilitate and increase coordination between the different health professions in the governance of health institutions. The ultimate purpose of this training is to obtain gains in efficiency, effectiveness and effectiveness in the management of hospital institutions with increases in the quality of care provided to patients and, consequently, in their levels of satisfaction. This course aims to provide hospital managers or administrators with clinical knowledge that will help them make daily economic decisions. The health sector in general, and medicine in particular, are characterised by technical specificities that require specific training. Since hospital managers or administrators have to make decisions on a daily basis that involve specific clinical knowledge, it is of the utmost importance that they have this knowledge.

Doctoral scholarships

Universidade Portucalense informs that it will award three doctoral scholarships to the candidates with the best absolute merit.
