On 9 September, Universidade Portucalense will welcome first-year undergraduate students with an induction programme designed to facilitate their integration into academic life.
The welcome session will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Aula Magna with the session “It Starts Here: The UPT Pedagogical Project,” presenting the teaching model, academic culture, and opportunities that define this journey.
At 10:30 a.m., the panel discussion “You Are Never Alone: The Student Support Network” will take place, focusing on the services and support structures available to help with integration, wellbeing, and academic success.
At 11:00 a.m., the gathering “Those Who Walk With You” will take place, providing an opportunity to meet the Department Directors, the Student Association, the Student Ombudsperson, and other academic bodies.
From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the activity “Your Department, Your Home” will take place, featuring presentations of the various Departments: Architecture and Multimedia Gallaecia (Room 102), Science and Technologies (Room 104), Law (Aula Magna), Economics and Management (Room 105), Psychology and Education (Room 103), and Tourism, Heritage, and Culture (Room 101).
The programme will continue at 12:30 p.m. with the Welcome Lunch at the Reflecting Pool, organised by the Universidade Portucalense’s Student Association, offering an opportunity to connect and socialise.
Between 2:00 p.m. and 2:45 p.m., new students will receive the “Freshers’ Kit,” and then take the traditional group photo, a symbolic moment that will bring together students, faculty members, and university leaders.
The Institutional Welcome Session, scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in the Aula Magna, will bring the induction programme to a close and officially mark the beginning of the new academic year for students entering Universidade Portucalense.
