Universidade Portucalense is one of the higher education institutions that has joined the IAedu platform, “Artificial Intelligence for Higher Education and Research.”
IAedu is a platform developed by FCT, through its digital services unit (FCCN), which democratises access to Artificial Intelligence in Portugal. This initiative provides the UPT academic community with free, secure, and centralised access to various advanced AI models.
This membership reinforces Universidade Portucalense’s commitment to pedagogical innovation, promoting the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence as a tool to support teaching, learning, and research.
Who can use it:
- Students;
- Lecturers;
- Researchers;
- University technicians and staff.
Access is reserved for institutions that are part of the Portuguese NREN (RCTS), of which Universidade Portucalense is a member.
Key features:
- Access to various AI models (such as GPT-4o and Mistral, among others) in a single portal;
- Possibility of creating customised virtual agents based on institutional content;
- Intuitive web interface and API access for integration into educational or scientific contexts;
- Secure authentication via institutional credentials;
- Guaranteed data protection and responsible usage policy.

Go to https://iaedu.pt/pt, select Universidade Portucalense in the list of institutions and log in with your institutional credentials.
Although already active and accessible to authorised users, the IAedu platform is currently in an experimental phase – beta version – to test features, gather feedback, and prepare for wider availability in the future.
