Rafael Silva – Testimonials

In a competitive market such as the legal market, a degree from a leading university, as is the case of UPT, or even a master’s degree, does not assure, by itself, professional success. Something more is needed. I chose the Master in Law at the Universidade Portucalense, more precisely the specialization in Legal-Administrative and Tax Sciences, for the unique combination of factors and characteristics that it brings together, the availability of the faculty, the richness, timeliness and diversity of the syllabus. Therefore, this master’s degree has allowed me to deepen my knowledge of General Administrative Law, which has recently undergone profound legislative changes. There are three factors that should be at the basis of any Master’s choice: the excellence of the teaching staff, the focus on practical life, and the proximity between teachers and students. I can say without a doubt that UPT fully meets all these factors. It is inevitable that, when being taught by the best, we become more and more demanding with ourselves. The Master in Law at UPT, is demanding since it is really necessary to prepare the classes and prepare several scientific papers at the end of each semester, but the counterpart may be the opportunity to publish a good paper in the Revista Jurídica Portucalense.
In this Master’s we are taught to question and problematize.
After the first year of the Master (curricular part), I conclude that it was the right bet at the right time.
