Coordinator of the Lisbon Branch of the IJP in Brazilian academic forums

In late November, Francisco Nicolau Domingos, coordinator of the Lisbon branch of Instituto Jurídico Portucalense (IJP), took part in several Brazilian academic forums, further strengthening research networks and legal dialogue within the Portuguese-Brazilian sphere.

One of the sessions took place during a series of debates on tax arbitration, organised by the Centro de Consensualidade em Matéria Tributária e Aduaneira (Centre for Consensus on Tax and Customs Matters), in collaboration with the Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Tributário (Brazilian Institute of Tax Law). In this context, the researcher participated in two working groups focused, respectively, on emerging trends in tax enforcement and the criteria for the admissibility of arbitration in tax and customs disputes.

The academic agenda also included participation in Law Week at Mackenzie Presbyterian University, where Francisco Nicolau Domingos addressed the issue of municipal financial autonomy, highlighting the current challenges faced by local authorities in the context of fiscal organization.

Also at Mackenzie Presbyterian University, he participated in the 32nd National Congress for Postgraduate Law, joining a panel dedicated to municipal autonomy and tax jurisdiction.
