The decision to do this master’s came when I received an email from UPT announcing the master’s program. At that time I had just joined a team of a European project where one of the components was IoT, and it was the first time that the content of a master’s degree fitted into the scope of my professional work – programming systems and applications that collect data from machines/equipment and integrate them in databases of higher-level information systems. My goal was to equip myself with skills in object-oriented and IoT-oriented programming languages. With more than 29 years of experience working with this kind of interfaces, this master’s degree will open horizons for me, because real experience comes from practice, from making real systems (not simulations) where the difficulties we face in a lab environment are countless and unimaginable.
