Coordinator of Applied Training on Strategic Control and Organisational Innovation

Jorge Coelho´s experience is related to Organizational Innovation and strategy deployment consulting projects, like business process management, information systems planning and implementation, business planning and strategy deployment, change management and management training, in many business sectors and public administration. Jorge ensures that Business Strategy is clarified and deployed through a self-directed teams’ model, independently of the chart of the organisation. He designs a business strategy and control system and helps to reinforce a culture of innovation transforming the organisations into eco-systems of innovation through workplace innovation methodologies. Jorge has been supporting organisational change and innovation initiatives in private (Portuguese and foreign, SMEs and large) enterprises and public sector bodies at central and local levels. He specialises in workshops at board level involving senior directors and managers to clarify and deploy business strategy, model business architectures in terms of organisational competences, design governance models, define and align business project portfolios, define and implement management and strategy control systems and continuous. improvement and innovation. Results include improved strategy alignment, agility, performance, motivation, and breaking away from silo thinking!

In 1978 created and developed the Department of Organisation, IT and management control at the new Post Office Centre Region, where has implemented the management by objectives and put in place the first steps of digitalization until 1990. Created and developed the IT department at Price Waterhouse – Oporto (1990-1994). Founded SisConsult in 1996 where he created and developed the organisational and innovation methodology Mlearn. Co-founded IPBPM – Portuguese Institute of BPM in 2007 where chaired the annual international conference on BPM (Business Process Management). Co-founded INOV-ORG – Association for organisational innovation (not for profit) that was integrated in EUWIN – European Workplace Innovation Network, being Jorge one of the members of the Steering Committee. Jorge is a regular speaker at conferences and workshops, and has published several articles and contributed with chapters to some books.

Jorge activity has been complemented with his involvement in teaching and research at the university level, as Associated Professor at the University of Minho, Invited prof. at the University Portucalense since 1993, and as visiting professor at the BPM summer school of HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, Netherland since 2015.
