On 19 September, at 2:30 pm, in the Aula Magna room, the National Association of Traders and Exporters of Wines and Spirits (ANCEVE) will hold a conference titled “Challenges and opportunities for the wine sector – is there an unprecedented vitivinicultural crisis coming?”

Universidade Portucalense won the 1st round of the Global Management Challenge  (GMC), the largest strategy and management competition in the world. Universidade Portucalense took part in the contest with three teams of students in the second year of the Management degree, coordinated by Professor Sofia Gomes. Two of the teams won the first round of their group at national level. For Shital Jayantilal, Director of the Department of Economics and Management, “this victory reflects the quality of teaching, the topicality and relevance of the degree’s syllabus and its practical nature, close to the real management of a company.” The GMC consists of an interactive business simulation in which each team manages a company with the aim of obtaining the best investment performance for their company in the market in which it operates. In its 40th year, the GMC has involved more than 650,000 company executives and university students from all over the world. 192 teams took part in 2024’s edition, organised into 32 groups. The second round starts on 24 September.  

On 1 August starts the second round of applications (2024-2025) for the 15 first cycle study programmes at Universidade Portucalense. Architecture and Urbanism, Multimedia and Arts, Law, Legal Services, International Relations, Economics, Management, Marketing, Industrial Engineering and Management, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Psychology, Education, Tourism, and Hospitality Management are part of the range of study programmes offered. Universidade Portucalense is organising the “Experimenta – Audiovisual Transformation” exhibition, which is open until 28 June, in the Infante Hall.

Tiago Braga, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Metro do Porto, is the guest speaker at the Seminar Cycle “Paths of Development,” on 21 June, at 11am, in room 201.

Universidade Portucalense, through Cultura@Portucalense and the Department of Tourism, Heritage, and Culture, celebrates International Museum Day on 28 May, with the Talk “Museums, Education, and Research.”

On 26 Abril, at 11am, João Castel-Branco Goulão, President of the Institute for Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies, is the guest speaker at the Seminar Cycle “Paths of Development”.

On 30 April, Universidade Portucalense is organising the second Seminar on “The Way of St James: Past and Future II,” in a partnership with the European Institute of Higher Education.

From 11 April to 5 May, the “INTER[SECTIONS]” exhibition will be on show, featuring the work of students from the Integrated Master’s Degree in Architecture and Urbanism and the Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia and Arts.
