One single donation of blood can save up to three lives

On 4 November, between 2pm and 7pm, Universidade Portucalense invites the entire academic community to rooms 205 and 206 to take part in the blood donation campaign.

Donating blood is a simple act of solidarity that makes a life-saving difference in medical treatments, surgeries, and maternal and neonatal care. Every donation counts and helps bolster reserves, which are currently below what is needed to meet the country’s hospital needs.

Anyone over the age of 18, weighing 50 kilos or more, and in good health can be a donor. The process is quick, safe, and simple: blood collection takes around 10 minutes, and a single donation can save up to three lives. You can also donate blood four months after getting a tattoo or piercing, provided there are no signs of infection.

The campaign is organised by RES-UPT, in partnership with the Students’ Association and the Tuna Veterana, and in collaboration with the Portuguese Institute of Blood and Transplantation (IPST).
