On 30 April, Universidade Portucalense is organising the second Seminar on “The Way of St James: Past and Future II,” in a partnership with the European Institute of Higher Education.
Over time, the Portuguese Way to Santiago has witnessed a constant flow of pilgrims with religious, spiritual, cultural, and adventure motivations.
With this growth, it is expected that the future of the Portuguese Way to Santiago will require the promotion of sustainable tourism, in order to ensure respect for nature and cultural heritage, as well as the preservation of its authenticity and spiritual character.
In this session, experts will analyse the future challenges of the Way of Saint James.
This event, part of the Culture@Portucalense project, will also see the launch of the book “Material Culture and Religion: Perspectives over Time”.
