UPT’s research unit, IJP, is certified by the Portuguese research promotion agency, FCT.

Created in June 1986, UPT is located in Porto, known as the ‘Invincible City’. Situated in the north of Portugal, on the right bank of the Douro River, Porto is the country’s second largest city with an urban area of over 1.3 million inhabitants. Porto gave Portugal its name and was awarded Best European Destination 2014. It is internationally known for its port wine, its bridges and its ancient and contemporary architecture. Its historic centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.

The city of Porto is also a centre of educational and research excellence, standing out for its technological and scientific innovation that attracts students from all over the country and abroad.

UPT wishes to receive proposals for collaboration, on a full-time basis, from PhDs in the areas of Economics / Management / Finance / Hospitality / Law / International Relations / Tourism / Psychology / Heritage, Conservation and Restoration.

We look forward to receiving applications from talented and committed professionals who wish to be involved in an exciting global teaching and research project in the sunny and vibrant city of Porto.

Preference will be given to candidates who have proven teaching and research experience and scientific publications.

Proficiency in English is required. The CV should clearly indicate, among other things

  • Master’s and PhD orientation;
  • Teaching activity;
  • List of Publications;
  • Coordination or participation in competitively funded research projects;
  • Participation in evaluation panels;
  • Communications in scientific meetings;
  • Qualification in foreign languages
