Spanish II 2017/2018

This curricular unit has been designed for the students to use and understand Spanish Language in oral and writing form in relevant situations considering the corresponding competences established for level A2.
1. To apply and understand correctly basic grammar rules of Spanish Language in significant communicative situations in writing and speaking.
2. To use and interpret properly basic vocabulary, formulas and expressions of Spanish Language in oral and writing communicational situations.
3. To know fundamental aspects of culture and society of Speaking Language countries.

Recommended Prerequisites

Knowledge and use in oral and writing form of any Romance language.

Teaching Metodology

Methodology will be active and participative. Meaningful learning based on interests, experiences and previous knowledge of the students will be promoted. The deductive, inductive and comparative methods will be used in the sessions depending on the learning contents as well as expositive, interrogative and demonstrative methods. The organization and work in the classroom will be in groups, pairs and individually. Different material resources will be used: writing documents, images, listenings…

Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's objectives

In order to reach objective number 1 (to use and understand fundamental grammar aspects of Spanish Language), it will be necessary to know the elements correspondent to contents number 1. Objective 2 will be accomplished through contents established in section 2. To achieve objective 3, contents included in section 3, corresponding to sociocultural elements will be worked.
The discipline contents (grammar, communicational functions, vocabulary…) were chosen and sequenced to reach the objectives of the discipline and they are interconnected.

Demonstration of the teaching methodologies coherence with the curricular unit's objectives

Considering objectives 1, 2 and 3 of the discipline are based on learning a basic level of Spanish Language and sociocultural elements, specially focused on communication, it is convenient to use pedagogic methods aiming to promote active participation of the students and a mixture of methods and techniques to develop objectives 1, 2 and 3.
In order to be able to use and understand correctly grammar rules and vocabulary (objectives 1 and 2), deductive, inductive and comparative methods will be specially taken into consideration as well as pedagogic techniques corresponding to the expositive, interrogative and demonstrative methods. The accomplishment of objective number 3 will be developed by combing interactive and expositive methodology and through discovery learning.
In a similar way, the nature and diversity of material resources that will be used as a support to methodology correspond primarily to objectives 1 and 2, regarding communicative aspects in oral and writing interactive situations.
