1. Conceptualize and Contextualize the Human Rights;
2. Understand the legislation and the United Nations protection system for Human Rights;
3. Identify the different Human Rights generations;
4. Recognize, identify and understand the Human Rights at international dimension as well the emergency state from the Occident to the Orient inside their different restrictions and complexities;
5. Identify, understand and develop the Education strategies for the Human Rights in the different needs: social, cultural, economic and political;
6. Identify and understand the different Human Rights violations;
7. Identify and understand the Human Rights International Protection System;
8. Human Rights understand as the International Relations;
9. Understand and characterize the international cooperation at international and regional dimension inside the Security paradigm change.
Lectures will mainly follow the expository method. At the same time, students' participation will be encouraged through discussions, opinion expression and analysis of relevant documents, including reference works to assist in the presentation of the syllabus' contents. Study of the juridical and institutional instruments as context to the Humanitarian Operations. Case Studies. Additionally, students are expected to conduct their own research activities and to study autonomously.

Aiming identify and debate the Human Rights and the International Cooperation processes, the Curricular Unit will develop the research, debate and competences of identification, recognizing and interpretation of the basilar teaching thematic in and for the International Relations.

The course proposes to combine theoretical and practical skills. Theoretical skills are intended to help students acquire the practical skills necessary to understand the international cooperation processes aimed at eliminating human inequalities and promote the institutionalization of a universal culture of rights.
