With this postgraduate training, the aim is to provide hospital management with specific clinical concepts that facilitate and increase coordination between the different health professions in the governance of health institutions. The ultimate purpose of this training is to obtain gains in efficiency, effectiveness and effectiveness in the management of hospital institutions with increases in the quality of care provided to patients and, consequently, in their levels of satisfaction.

This course aims to provide hospital managers or administrators with clinical knowledge that will help them make daily economic decisions. The health sector in general, and medicine in particular, are characterised by technical specificities that require specific training. Since hospital managers or administrators have to make decisions on a daily basis that involve specific clinical knowledge, it is of the utmost importance that they have this knowledge.

Presentation

With this postgraduate training, the aim is to provide hospital management with specific clinical concepts that facilitate and increase coordination between the different health professions in the governance of health institutions. The ultimate purpose of this training is to obtain gains in efficiency, effectiveness and effectiveness in the management of hospital institutions with increases in the quality of care provided to patients and, consequently, in their levels of satisfaction.

At the end of the course the trainee will be able, among other things, to:

  • Apply and understand the meaning of medical concepts inherent to each of the specialities in the field of healthcare management, with an impact on decision-making;
  • Acquire skills in articulating management and clinical concepts in the specialities included in the curricular programme;
  • Acquire skills in understanding and using clinical concepts in the different areas of intervention;
  • Identify, from a management perspective and for the various specialities, the different types of pathologies, procedures, therapies, prostheses and endoprostheses, MCDTs and other clinical acts;
  • Apply and use clinical concepts and principles in the day-to-day activity of governance in healthcare units.

  • Professionals who work or intend to work in the field of Hospital Management with the aim of deepening their knowledge and clinical procedures.

Skills to be acquired

  • Skills in articulating management and clinical concepts in the specialities included in the curriculum, relating to Pathologies, Acts, Procedures, Interventions, MCDTs, Medicines, Coding, Clinical Trials.
  • Skills in understanding and using clinical concepts in the different areas of intervention.

Diploma or Certificate Awarded
A certificate of attendance will be issued to participants who have attended at least 75% of the course. A Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Foundations for Hospital Management will be awarded to participants who have passed all the course units.

Team Leadership and Performance – combining methodologies and collaborative strategies for project ideation and development.

  • Alignment of the team involved with the aim of integrating the medical concepts and knowledge acquired into management practice and a vision of the future with an impact on decision-making.
  • Transformation of ideas into projects, inspired by the concepts learnt on the course and the experience of all the participants
  • Structured application of tools centred on needs and objectives, ensuring effective and productive discussion

  • Identifying priorities and deadlines for activities

Scholarship Award

With the main objective of supporting the training of specialized professionals and boosting knowledge and innovation, HPSC – High Performance Studies Center is awarding a scholarship (in the amount of the tuition fee) for the 1st edition of the Postgraduate Course in Clinical Fundamentals for Hospital Managers.

Requirements to apply for the scholarship

  • Academic qualifications – Degree level.
  • Professional experience – The degree of suitability between the functions/activities already carried out, directly and/or indirectly related to the activities inherent to the Postgraduate Programme, will be taken into account.)
  • Professional Training – Years of experience

Scholarship Award

  • The scholarship will be awarded to the candidate who obtains the highest score, taking into account the three criteria defined.
