Category of members
The Research Unit on Social and Personal Development has two categories of members: integrated researchers and collaborating researchers.
Integrated researchers are those members that hold a PhD degree and belong to the academic staff of UPT.
Collaborating researchers are those members that belong to the academic staff of UPT, but have a Master Degree.
External researchers are those members that hold a PhD but do not belong to the academic staff of UPT.
The admission as member of the Research Unit on Social and Personal Development requires, regardless of the category, the approval by the Scientific Coordinator that must assess the academic qualifications of the candidate.
According to their scientific skills and interests, the members are organized into working teams with a group leader nominated by the Scientific Coordinator that is responsible for the development of collective research tasks that allow for the successful accomplishment of consistent research projects.
Scientific Coordinator: must choose the team leaders and decide the admission of applicants for membership; must coordinate the planning and execution of research projects
Joint Coordinator: joins the Scientific Coordinator in scientific tasks
Secretary General: maintains all records pertaining to membership, events, meetings, and other activities
Scientific Committee: is composed of all Integrated Members; must participate actively in the planning and execution of all research activities, shall work to attain the best standards of scientific research and meet the aims of the Research Unit.
